In this brief for Little Brown Books, I was tasked to design a cover for Dr Aomawa Shields’ ‘Life on Other Planets’, which hadn't yet been released.

I explored the wide scope of visual opportunity with this project, everything from the obvious to the abstract and dissecting the content of Dr. Shields’ novel to its core themes. Through hand-rendered and digital explorations, I pieced together some early compositions based on my research to discuss with the team at Little Brown Books.

Committed to the textural route with poetic serif typography that reflects the whimsy of wondering beyond this world, but grounded in the gritty texture mixes.
